RFID Card Access Control Solutions 

Today, we would like to share with you on RFID Card format. Generally, it classify into 3 types which is EM Proximity, Mifare and HID. Unlike magnetic stripe cards, contactless card that allow you to tap / put near the card reader for a moment to enable the identification of card number. Typically, it takes about 5 to 10cm range to read the card. All RFID card serve standard size 86 * 54 mm and thickness depends whether it’s ISO slim card or clam shell cards.

HID CARD READER

EM Proximity Card

It’s common to use this card in office or some condo apartment use for door access system and time attendance solutions. EM Card working frequency is 100Khz ~ 150Khz support read and write function. It provide low consumption data transmission and encoding. Downside for EM card is it can be clone or duplicate and is consider less secure enough for critical door access security environment.

Mifare

Mifare card is invented by NXP® technology with MIFARE brand normally classify into 1K or 4K contactless 13.56Mhz complies to ISO 14443A standard. It’s widely use for access control, time attendance, public transport and membership system. Mifare card is much more secure compare to EM proximity and hardly to clone or duplicate. This is because the card has design with 32 sectors of 4 blocks each and 8 sectors of 16 blocks. Mifare card also support other types of format or shape like key tag, wristband and RFID Tags. HID

HID are proximity cards produce by HID global corporation. It’s world-wide RFID card access control solution provider. HID cards is considering post highest security with open, global standards to highly advanced encryption and a software-based infrastructure.
